Jefferson County is the deadliest county in Kentucky for auto accidents, racking up almost twice as many crash deaths as any other county.
The good news is that traffic deaths in Jefferson County dropped from 80 in 2007 to 61 in 2011, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Number two on the list is Fayette County, which had 32 traffic deaths in 2011.
Statewide, there were 721 motor vehicle deaths in 2011. This was a significant drop from the 864 total in 2007.

More than 4,000 men, women and children died in Kentucky auto accidents from 2007 to 2011, the period studied by the NHTSA.
